We developed the Outbound Index to fill two basic purposes in anti-spam infrastructure:
Development status: Outbound Index databases, SIQuery servers and query clients in production use for several years. Two active versions of the Sendmail milter query client exist, plus several command line query clients, a Microsoft Exchange plug-in query client, and a Postfix policy daemon. (read about who We are when you get a chance) Welcome Exchange users - links to available Windows clients here: ExchangeConfiguration The http://MailCruncher.com/press.cfm outsourced email pre-processing service exclusively uses the Outbound Index for tagging and enjoys anecdotally very high satisfaction from short and long term users, most common phrase being "I love it." This is an anti-spam system that is working well for business customers now and for the past several years. The Outbound Index developers are also stepping through the addition of feature modules and performance enhancements. Successful operation is not dependent on "if everybody would just" utopian or theoretical plans. At the same time we do continue to suggest new best practices which would help all anti-spam services differentiate legitimate senders from questionable senders. Netblock - Relationship - Domain Theory VarA - VARA Verified And Recipient Authorized: solves forwarding problem for SPF and other designated sender schemes or those judging IP-domain pairs.
